On Day 6 of the 12 days of Wellness blog series we want to talk about how we reflect on our achievements, successes and development points as part of planning our goals to progress and develop in the coming year.

Many workplaces have annual ‘appraisals’ which focus on setting key performance indicators that may not consider the needs of the individual as well as the business.

CPD cycle showing ‘Review, Reflect, Plan, Do’ Development model

In my work with my professional body (IOSH) on their Continuing Professional Development working party, we encourage our members to adopt the ‘Review, Plan, Reflect, Do’ model, with a personal development plan created from a reflection on thier own skill set, and their development goals for the period of the plan.

As our philosophy at worksafeandwell is about spreading positive leadership and wellbeing management practices, we would love to hear how you review, reflect and plan your development, so we have set up a short survey to find out more.

  1. How do you plan your development and set personal and workplace goals?
  2. How do you measure your achievements and progress with current and previous goals?
  3. How do you help others set their goals and development plans?

In the New Year we will collate and share the results and spread the good news with you all.

To learn more about reflection and continuing professsional development, see my other blog posts and articles on this subject, or look at examples from the CIPD and IOSH

Thanks for taking part and Happy Reflecting!
