As we like to practice what we preach here at worksafeandwell, today’s blog is short and sweet, as it is way past our bedtime as we write this post and we know how important a good night’s sleep is for our wellbeing.

We found a great article written for World Sleep day that sums up the benefits of sleep perfectly so would like to share it with you here.

World Sleep Day

World Sleep Day is an annual event to raise awareness of sleep disorders and the burden that they place on society. The next World Sleep Day will be held on March 16, 2018.

The organisers of this event list the three elements of good quality sleep, which are:

    • Duration: The length of sleep should be sufficient for the sleeper to be rested and alert the following day.
    • Continuity: Sleep periods should be seamless without fragmentation.
    • Depth: Sleep should be deep enough to be restorative.

Sleep Well

So as the laptop gets tucked away for the evening and the ‘publish’ button gets hit, we wish you all a great night’s sleep and hope that the toolkit from the world sleep day can benefit you and anyone you wish to share it with, as this is one of is the easiest ways to increase performance, productivity and wellbeing in all of our workforce and doesn’t cost a penny.
